Maddie Oliver is a Yale class of 2013 graduate and a former fencer. A native of Bethesda, MD, her family moved to New York in 2009 and she has been here ever since. Back in Maryland, the grandson of a very close family friend has Autism and is part of the inspiration for joining the junior board.
After teaching in a middle school for two years with AmeriCorps, Maddie recently transitioned to working in an education non-profit, The Opportunity Network. This group helps to level the playing field for low-income high school students by giving them access to college guidance and professional experience, etiquette, and networks. She also volunteers as an Essay Coach with the Opportunity Network and is currently helping three students write their college application essays.
Outside of work, she spends time training her puppy and going to the theater. Some of her most recent shows are Significant Other, Eclipsed, and Book of Mormon.
