M4A Partners with Wharton School of Business for Successful Fundraiser in Philadelphia, PA

Joshua Stein, Lisa Splitlog, and Robert Accordino, posted December 2, 2007.

Philadelphia, PA – Music For Autism (M4A) recently teamed with the Wharton School of Business, Philadelphia, PA, for its first fundraiser held outside the tri-state area. Managed by 10 Wharton business students, the well-attended December 2 event raised $850 and increased awareness about M4A on the University of Pennsylvania campus.

Featuring numerous local and University-affiliated artists, the fundraiser culminated a semester-long partnership between M4A and Wharton. First-year students in Wharton’s prestigious Management 100 course – the first business course taken by Wharton undergraduates – worked closely with M4A to develop an innovative project that would introduce them to the principles of non-profit management.

M4A Junior Board of Trustee member Joshua Stein was impressed with the students” work, as well as with their dedication to the cause. “The event was really fun and well-organized,” said Stein. “The UPenn community embraced the work done by these talented first-years, and were extremely supportive of Music for Autism in general. I hope that our relationship with UPenn will continue to strengthen in the future.”
