“The news from the CDC underscores the critical need to intensify public policy and advocacy efforts to advance basic and applied research, access to evidence-based education and treatment programs, awareness & early identification initiatives, and services to help young people successfully transition to adulthood,” said Dr. Barbara Firestone, President & CEO of The Help Group and Music for Autism Board Member. “Let us continue to work together to ensure that individuals with autism have every opportunity to fulfill their potential to lead positive, productive and rewarding lives.”

US Founder of Music for Autism, Dr. Robert Accordino, agreed with Dr. Firestone’s call to action, “Music for Autism plays a vital role in supporting and enhancing the quality of life of those impacted by autism and their families. As we learn of the potential of higher numbers of individuals with this condition, we will continue to do everything we can to help those affected and to decrease the stigma often experienced by families.”
