Versatile violinist Madeleine Jansen has been lauded by the San Francisco Classical Voice for her interpretation of works by composers from Dvořák to Brubeck. Her multifaceted career as a performer, teacher, and concert organizer has enabled her to promote connections through music in a variety of settings. As an artist who is committed to engaging with diverse audiences, Madeleine can frequently be heard in venues ranging from bars to arenas to the concert stage. 

Highlights of Madeleine’s career include performances at Lincoln Center, London’s St. John’s Smith Square, the Kennedy Center, and Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. As a soloist, Madeleine performed Vivaldi’s Concerto in B minor for Four Violins at Carnegie Hall, alongside musicians from the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. She has additionally appeared as soloist with orchestra at Washington D.C.’s Capitol Hill, the United Nations headquarters in New York City, Queen’s Flushing Town Hall, and St. Peter’s Church (Wall Street). 

A passionate chamber musician, Madeleine has performed as a guest artist at the Ouluska Pass Chamber Music Festival (Saranac Lake, NY), UMass Amherst Bach Festival (Amherst, MA), Five Colleges New Music Festival (Amherst, MA), Ithaca New Music Collective series (Ithaca, NY) and Luzerne Music Center Chamber Music Festival (Adirondacks, NY). Her entrepreneurial spirit has led her to organize and execute dozens of chamber music concerts and recitals around the East Coast, including at New York City’s Cell Theater, Cornelia Street Café, and Northampton, MA’s First Night Festival, as well as countless outreach programs. Committed to using music as a tool to bridge cultural differences and promote social justice, Madeleine toured the United States for two years with composer Eric Genuis, performing his piano trio works in maximum security prisons. 

As an orchestral musician, Madeleine has performed with the Albany Symphony, and led performances as concertmaster with the 

University of Maryland Symphony Orchestra, University of Massachusetts Symphony Orchestra, and at Carnegie Hall’s Zankel Auditorium. In 2019, Madeleine joined Baltimore’s Mount Vernon Virtuosi, a chamber orchestra led by Amit Peled that is dedicated to launching the careers of recent graduates and young professionals. 

Committed to inspiring the next generation of classical musicians, Madeleine is a passionate teacher whose students have earned admission to the Juilliard and Manhattan School of Music pre- college divisions. Madeleine is currently the Director of Strings and Chamber Music at Luzerne Music Center (NY), where she has taught violin for the past seven summers. Previously, Madeleine taught violin at Interlochen Arts Camp in Michigan. 

Not limited to classical music, Madeleine has performed with many of today’s leading artists, including Rod Stewart, Michael Bublé, Josh Groban, Andrea Bocelli, Sarah Brightman, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Vérité, Jacky Cheung, and Igor Krutoy, and performed on NBC’s Today Show with Michael Bublé

Madeleine received her musical education at Boston University, the Royal College of Music (London), and University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Her primary teachers include Elizabeth Chang, Eugene Moye, Joey Corpus, and Dana Mazurkevich. Currently, Madeleine is pursuing her Doctorate of Musical Arts at the University of Maryland under the direction of Dr. James Stern.
