Kenny Wang is a student at the University of Maryland, College Park, studying music education and clarinet. He is passionate about connecting communities inside and outside of public schools. He actively participates in ensembles such as the University of Maryland Symphony Orchestra, Wind Orchestra, Opera Studio and Wind Ensembles. He also supports and participates in student-run productions such as TEMPO Contemporary Ensemble and OperaTerps. Kenny is passionate about community-driven community engagement, recent performances include recitals at Collington A. Kendal Retirement Home, Washington D.C. Veterans Affairs Hospital, and Hillhaven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He plays in the band Peach Tea Punch, which arranges and produces covers of music to be performed at local events.
In addition to teaching students within the community and working at summer camps such as the Terrapin Music Camp, Kenny has spent summers participating in festivals such as the Master Players Festival, New Orchestra of Washington Fest, and Clarinet Academy of America. He studies clarinet with Robert DiLutis and works in production management at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center.
