Music for Autism has named Broadway stars and frequent songwriting partners, Kasie Gasparini and CJ Pawlikowski as our 2021 Spotlight Artists. These exceptionally talented young artists have performed with Music for Autism both at our in-person, interactive concerts, as well as on our live-streamed, virtual ones. They have delighted our audiences at each concert and their talent radiates throughout, no matter the format.
“CJ and Kasie embody the heart and soul of Music for Autism,” remarked Dr. Robert Accordino, US Founder and Chair of the Board. “Their exquisite musicianship is only exceeded by their generosity of spirit as they welcome each member of the audience into the concert experience and create a space for all types of creative expression. We are beyond thrilled to recognize the enormous impact they have had—and will continue to have—on our organization through elevating them with this richly deserved honor.”
California native actor, singer, writer, and performer Kasie Gasparini’s credits include Mamma Mia! and she has worked closely with mentors such as Tom Kitt, Brian Yorkey and Kelli O’Hara. CJ Pawlikowski has starred in two of Broadway’s biggest hits – The Book of Mormon and Jersey Boys! and recently released his debut singer/songwriter EP, Carry On. Kasie and CJ are currently writing and starring in a pilot, FOLK.
“Performing for Music for Autism reminds me of what music is all about,” said Kasie, upon learning of the Spotlight Artist designation. “Music is a universal language that brings people from all walks of life together and I am forever grateful to be given the opportunity to share it.” “I have to thank Music for Autism for being such a warm and welcoming family over the past few years,” followed CJ. “It’s been one of the most rewarding and richest experiences for both Kasie and me. We’re extremely thankful to be a part of the journey and honored to be a Spotlight Artist!”
“CJ and Kasie are not only incredible artists, but they are incredible humans. You can feel their love and joy through their interactions with the audience and from the way they sing from their hearts,” enthused Ryan Gardner, Artist Coordinator for Music for Autism. Lindsey Morfin, a former Music for Autism Board member and the person who introduced CJ and Kasie to the organization added, “CJ and I grew up together in a small town in Indiana, and when I joined M4A I knew I had to get him involved as he is a star that radiates positive energy and brightens any room. He and Kasie are the perfect duo, a force that brings everyone to their feet at our M4A concerts.”
We are so pleased to be able to bring such dedicated and talented artists together with our families for free, interactive concerts that can be enjoyed by all. With our pivot to virtual concerts during the COVID-19 crisis, even more audiences across the United States can join in on the fun.
Music for Autism began the Spotlight Artist program in 2009 to recognize extraordinarily talented and gifted artists who have made a significant commitment to supporting the work of M4A and aided in the charity’s expansion across the US.
